Job Summary
Conduct daytime, full-time field work to correctly and safely locate underground utilities including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems. Thoroughly search designated areas, accurately mark locations, complete necessary documentation, and photograph each locate using best-in-class ticket and claims management systems. Work independently in a company-provided vehicle across various weather conditions, requiring ability to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call rotations including nights. Must hold a valid driver's license, pass a drug screen, and possess proficiency with technology and maps. No prior locating experience is needed, though advanced training and growth opportunities are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with technology
- Able to pass a drug screen
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Able to work in a confined space
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
- Must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts (including nights and weekends)
