Job Summary
Utility Locator performs daytime, full-time field work locating underground utilities (telecom, electric, gas, water, sewer) in designated areas, accurately marking locations and documenting findings. The role involves independent field duties, operating a company-provided vehicle, identifying wiring colors, and adhering to safety and quality standards. Training is provided; there is potential for advancement and a defined career path. Experience is encouraged but not required; prior locating experience is welcome. The position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, read locate tickets and maps, communicate with teammates and customers, and pass a drug screening. The role includes overtime, weekend and on-call shifts as needed, with a company vehicle and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with technology
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position)
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
- Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs
