Job Summary
Utility Locator sought to locate underground utilities (telecom, electric, gas, water, sewer) in designated areas, marking locations and completing required documentation. Full-time daytime field work with overtime, weekend, and on-call shifts as needed. Training provided; opportunity for advancement; company vehicle and equipment supplied; focus on safety and quality in infrastructure damage prevention. Located in Terre Haute, IN; must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and pass a drug screen. Proficiency with technology and strong communication skills required.
Required Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with technology
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position)
- Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs
- Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
