Job Summary
Locate underground utilities (telecommunications, electric, gas, water, sewer) safely and accurately within a designated area, thoroughly search for utilities, mark locations, complete necessary documentation, and photograph each locate. Operate with a company-provided vehicle in field conditions; work daytime full-time hours with overtime and on-call shifts as needed. Day-to-day responsibilities include using ticket/claims management systems, ensuring clear communication with excavators/property owners, and adhering to safety and quality standards. The role emphasizes independence, field-work, problem-solving, and opportunities for training and advancement in a safety-focused infrastructure-services environment.
Required Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with technology
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position)
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
- Able to walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs
- Previous outdoor experience is a plus
