Job Summary
Locator responsibilities include correctly and safely locating underground utilities (telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and sewer) in a designated area, accurately marking locations, completing required documentation, and photographing each locate. Work is daytime, full-time with overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call requirements as needed. Training is provided; no prior locating experience is required though experienced locators are encouraged to apply. The role uses company-provided vehicle, tickets/claims management systems, and emphasizes public safety and quality. Required Qualifications
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Pass drug screen
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Proficiency with technology
- Able to read locate tickets and maps/prints
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, homeowners
- Able to walk, bend, lift up to 75 lbs
- Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring
