Job Summary
Utility Locate Technician to identify and mark underground utilities for pre-design and construction. Office duties include CAD production, deliverables review, and survey-related computations; field duties involve periodic travel for private utility locating. Operates Radio Detection (RD), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), and Trimble surveying equipment; familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS is preferred. Flexible to hybrid travel with local work and some out-of-town travel; 40–60 hours per week. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving history. Strong organizational, communication, and QA/QC skills are required to coordinate with field crews and office staff and to manage multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving history
- Experience in utility locating or related field
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities
- Knowledge of utility networks and geophysical locating equipment (RD, GPR)
- Experience with CAD production and GIS concepts preferred
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and travel for field work
