Job Summary
Lead and support field technicians to complete locate requests safely, accurately, and within required timelines using electronic locating equipment and APWA color standards. Read utility maps and prints to identify underground facilities while coordinating with supervisors to manage daily workload and priorities. Assist in training and mentoring new and existing team members, ensuring compliance with safety meetings, audits, and operational reviews. Complete documentation for locates, crossings, and excavation projects on time and participate in on-call rotations to maintain equipment readiness. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and rugged terrain, requiring physical stamina for frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2–3 years of utility locating experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
- Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment
- Ability to traverse rugged terrain
- Frequent standing and walking
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, precipitation)
- Ability to travel to offsite locations for extended periods as needed
- Willingness to work extended hours when project schedules require
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Availability to travel and participate in on-call rotations
