Utility Laborer

Job Summary
Operate hand and power tools such as hammers, sledgehammers, pry bars, and screwdrivers to hand-dig trenches with shovels for conduit placement around live utility services. Use asphalt saws and quickie saws for cutting materials, operate a jackhammer weighing between 10–90 pounds, and drive a single-axle dump truck to and from the job site. Handle and assemble 20-foot pipe joints in ditches ranging from 2 to 4 feet deep, climb ladders, and maneuver utility trailers safely. Maintain availability Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (up to 55 hours per week) while assisting other craft workers as needed. Perform other labor-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Physical ability to perform assigned labor-related tasks, including climbing ladders and entering or exiting ditches
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- General labor skills and familiarity with construction work environments
- Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools such as hammers, sledgehammers, pry bars, and screwdrivers
- Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented individual with a strong work ethic
- Maintain availability Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (up to 55 hours per week)
