Job Summary
Oversee and direct pipeline and gas distribution field activities, conducting visual inspections of installations for compliance with OSHA and federal safety standards. Review engineering drawings, codes, and construction schedules while performing quality control checks on excavation, backfill, boring, pipe installation, purging, gas line activation, and pressure testing. Issue stop-work orders when necessary and verify contractor Operator Qualifications. Maintain accurate records of work performed and contractor compliance, then document and report daily construction activities to management and clients. Participate in daily safety inspections and safety briefings to ensure strict adherence to industry specifications and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the utility or pipeline industry
- Prior experience with distribution main and service replacement projects, particularly poly mains
- Strong knowledge of gas distribution and pipeline regulations (49 C.F.R. Part 192)
- Experience reading and interpreting utility plans, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
