Job Summary
Inspects, investigates, and enforces city codes for water infrastructure, pipes, and construction. Performs a wide range of complex inspections ensuring proper water delivery, management, and drainage. Issues and drafts notices of violation, conducts follow-up inspections, and communicates regulatory requirements to customers. Reads and interprets construction plans and specifications, applies city codes and ordinances, and enforces code compliance with firmness, tact, and impartiality. Works independently in the field, collaborates with project managers and inspectors, and engages in fieldwork to ensure safety and quality across water and wastewater construction projects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Three (3) years of experience inspecting the design/construction/maintenance in one of the following areas: streets, storm drainage systems; water/sewer mains, water/wastewater facilities; bridge improvements projects
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
