Job Summary
Join RECONN as a Utility Inspection Technician responsible for installing Natural Gas Detectors and inspecting gas services for leaks and corrosion. You will complete visual inspections, manage paperwork, identify abnormal operating conditions, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. This entry-level position requires outdoor work in various weather conditions, strong communication skills, and physical ability to handle tasks such as lifting and prolonged standing. Required Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected.
- Able to pass a drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
- Computer proficiency.
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints; possess basic math skill to calculate distances.
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
Desired Qualifications
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
