Job Summary
Gas Leak Survey Technician surveys gas lines, meters, and surrounding areas for evidence of leaks using a Remote Methane Leak Detector, walks site to site to identify line locations, performs visual inspections of meters and fittings, grades leaks by severity, and reports findings per safety and regulatory guidelines. The role requires extensive outdoor work in varying weather, strong time management, and attention to detail, with responsibilities including data collection, reporting, and effective communication with management and customers. Must be able to walk long distances, follow sketches/diagrams, and complete required Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training; requires a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of continuous work with same employer or 6+ months outdoor work
- valid driver’s license
- complete and pass Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training
