Job Summary
Forklift Operator on 2nd shift responsible for moving materials and finished products throughout the facility. Duties include unloading/loading trailers, using handheld scanners to receive orders and put away products, inventory verification and counts, placing pallet tops, banding and shrink-wrapping skids, and assisting with loading/unloading trucks. Ensure GMP and FSQA training/compliance, maintain accurate inventory data, and support plant management with additional tasks. Operates equipment safely, contributes to continuous improvement of the Food Safety Culture, and adheres to food safety and quality standards. Overtime may be required during peak season; shift is 2:30pm–1:00am Monday–Thursday with a 10-hour schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently, with or without an accommodation.
- Must be able to operate and maintain a forklift.
- Strong numerical skills with the ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
- Able to perform quality control checks.
- Ability to work overtime.
- Must be able to pass forklift certification training (within the first week).
- Ottawa certification (may be required).
