Job Summary
Lead a crew of utility workers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water, sewer, stormwater, and other utility systems on construction sites; interpret blueprints/plans to ensure accurate placement; coordinate with project managers on installation plans, scheduling, and logistics; manage procurement and inventory of materials and tools; conduct inspections for safety and regulatory compliance; enforce safety protocols; collaborate with engineering teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to obtain permits; provide guidance and mentorship to crew members and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in utility installation or construction management is preferred.
- Proven experience (5 years) in utility installation, maintenance, or construction, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- Thorough knowledge of utility systems, including water distribution, sewer collection, stormwater management, and underground utilities.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards governing utility construction and installation.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, plans, and technical specifications related to utility infrastructure.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
