Job Summary
Lead design and execution of water and wastewater utility projects; prepare civil design plans and details; perform hydraulic modeling and capacity analysis; manage permitting with local/state agencies; conduct site visits; collaborate with Project Managers, clients, and other disciplines; ensure compliance with codes and municipal requirements; assist with proposal development and scope definition; hybrid work arrangement in Virginia Beach/Newport News area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or another related field
- 8+ years of related water/wastewater experience
- Professional Engineer’s license in VA is preferred, will consider other states with the commitment of obtaining a Virginia PE within 6 months of starting employment
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (and/or similar design software)
- Experience with utility modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS) a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead design tasks, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with clients and permitting agencies
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
