Remove soiled plates and flatware from tables, wash them thoroughly, restock items, unload delivery trucks, and clean appliances and machines. Perform basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, and preparing simple dishes like salads and entrees. Wash and chop vegetables, cut meat, set up workstations, and bake, grill, steam, and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and ensuring all food and items are stored properly while complying with nutrition and sanitation guidelines. Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to opening to ensure guests are served promptly during operating hours.
