Job Summary
Coordinate, create, and review structural detailing work for utility pole designs to ensure manufacturability and adherence to design standards. Verify technical accuracy across detailed drawings, structural calculations, and bills of materials before production begins. Check CAD drawings and blueprints for accuracy against customer and industry standards while interacting with sales, engineers, and manufacturing teams to clarify design requirements. Perform problem analysis, layout verification, and structural calculations with low variances, collaborating with the engineering department to ensure proper material allocation and maintain project schedule priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience
- 3-5 years of experience in structural design detailing
- High proficiency using AutoCAD
- Hands-on experience reviewing detailed drawings of structural steel poles and transmission towers
- Strong problem-solving ability and expertise performing structural analysis and low-variance calculations
- Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Ability to read and comprehend complex blueprints, bills of materials, and customer technical documents
- Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal channels with team members and customers
- Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
