UTILITY CRAFT VENDOR SURVEILLANCE AUDITOR

Job Summary
The Utility Craft Vendor Surveillance Auditor is responsible for surveilling and evaluating suppliers to ensure delivered equipment complies with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and performance specifications. Role involves travel to perform onsite inspections, document reviews, and functional testing, plus continuous improvement activities to protect product integrity and supplier accountability. Responsibilities include managing supplier corrective actions, preparing audit reports with photos, reviewing supplier change notifications, maintaining supplier files/reports, interfacing with suppliers to ensure products meet specifications, developing measurement techniques for product release at suppliers, supporting manufacturing areas, collaborating with production personnel to monitor quality metrics, investigating root causes for non-conforming products, and liaising with senior management, clients, and vendors. Read work instructions/drawings to confirm production information, and work on an as-needed basis with compensation based on experience and certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED Certification
- A minimum of 4 years as a Utility/Craft Inspector or equivalent related experience
- Read work instructions and/or drawings to interpret and confirm production and/or assembly information
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow company procedures and manufacturers guidelines
- Proficient in applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
- Prove ability to provide visionary strategic leadership; experience guiding the implementation of a strategic plan, measuring progress, and adapting as necessary
- Ability to work alone or within a group
- Self-driven to completion of job
- Strong commitment to personal and team safety
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
- Effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the team, customers, and external contacts., via telephone, in written form, email, and in person
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to travel from 90-100%
- Physical ability to lift up to 25lbs and work in remote field settings
- Valid active driver's license
- Ability to pass random DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing
- OSHA 10 training
- Familiarity in renewable and fossil fuel energy sectors preferred
