Job Summary
Inspect and monitor utility construction projects involving natural gas, electric, telecommunications, and municipal infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety regulations, approved plans, and applicable standards. Serve as a third-party representative of the utility or facility owner, protecting public safety and infrastructure integrity while navigating multiple locations daily. Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility maps to verify work meets federal, state, local, and company requirements. Proficient with mobile technology and electronic reporting systems such as ArcGIS-Survey123 and/or Field Maps is preferred, along with experience using GPS instruments like Trimble and/or Topcon. This role supports Mi-Tech's commitment to delivering integrated, end-to-end engineering and construction solutions across multiple industries.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of utility safety practices, excavation standards, and damage prevention requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility maps.
- Comfortable working independently in the field and navigating multiple locations daily.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in natural gas, electric, telecommunications, or municipal utility construction is preferred, but not required.
- Proficient with mobile technology and electronic reporting systems such as ArcGIS -Survey123 and/or Field Maps is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with GPS instruments such as Trimble and/or Topcon preferred, but not required.
