Job Summary
Utility Clerk (Part Time) at BJ’s Wholesale Club responsible for general maintenance and cleaning to uphold safety and sanitation standards. Gathers and returns carts/flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, maintains cleanliness of the sales floor, offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas, operates cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubber), and performs minor routine building repairs. Requires completing required training/certification, prior maintenance/janitorial or retail/wholesale experience preferred, and ability to read department production/financial performance reports. Emphasizes safety, teamwork, timely execution, and adherence to club standards (GOLD, GAA). Regular, predictable attendance is essential. Environment includes moving around hard surfaces, lifting up to 30 pounds routinely, occasional heavy lifting with assistance, and exposure to cleaning agents and varying temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Must successfully complete required training and certification processes
- Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred, but not required
- Prior retail/wholesale experience preferred
- May be less than 18 years of age to perform parking lot cart functions
- Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age restricted areas
