Utility Clerk responsibilities include bagging purchases properly, assisting customers, delivering groceries to customers’ vehicles when requested, locating items in the store, maintaining cleanliness and safety of the sales floor and restrooms, performing price checks for cashiers, and ensuring compliance with health, sanitation, and government regulations regarding alcohol and tobacco sales. The role requires strong customer service and interpersonal skills, basic math and reading abilities, ability to operate and maintain equipment safely, and the ability to work in a retail environment with physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, and moving items. A liquor license may be required prior to the first day of work in some cases, and ongoing training is provided under the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
