Job Summary
Assists the Registrar with complex technical and supervisory duties related to voter registration and elections under federal, state, and local laws. Performs tasks including preparing and maintaining registration and voting materials, working with voting precincts and polling places, preparing voting machines and electronic pollbooks, and training election officials. Maintains records and supplies, supports non-partisan operations, and interacts with the public. Primary work is in the Voter Registration Office in Albemarle County with occasional travel to election sites; requires high school completion, Virginia voter eligibility, and availability for evening/weekend overtime during elections.
Required Qualifications
- High school completion or equivalent
- Must be a qualified voter in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Ability to meet County safe driver requirements, if applicable
- Non-partisan work environment
- Ability to perform in time-sensitive, high-pressure environments
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and basic computer applications
Additional Requirements
- Must be a qualified voter in Virginia (Code §24.2-112)
- Non-partisan duties
- Occasional travel within Albemarle County
- Evening/Weekend/ overtime when election periods require
