Job Summary
Provide flexible operational support across voter registration, Early Voting, and Election Day preparation in accordance with federal and state election laws. Assist with the staging, delivery, retrieval, and reconciliation of voting machines, electronic pollbooks, ballots, and other election materials for Early Voting and Election Day. Manage, store, and retain Electoral Board and election records while supporting data entry and voter assistance activities during high-volume periods. Deliver logistical support for election official training sessions by preparing materials, equipment, and documentation. Perform duties in the Voter Registration Office, Voting Machine Storage Area, and polling locations, including occasional travel to educational and religious institutions used as voting sites. Work evening, weekend, and overtime shifts as workload dictates during election periods.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet statutory qualifications to be appointed as an Assistant Registrar and take the required oath
- Ability to meet County safe driver requirements, if applicable
- Must be a qualified voter in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Ability to work effectively in time-sensitive, high-pressure environments
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and basic computer applications
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school completion
- Periodic evening, weekend work and overtime is required as workload dictates
- Requires frequent sitting or standing for extended periods with occasional moderate lifting
- Requires operation of a variety of standard office machines

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in project management, business administration, or related field is highly desirable
- Experience as an Electoral Board Assistant or Assistant Registrar is strongly preferred
- Experience as a voting precinct election officer is highly desirable
