Job Summary
Assist the Food Services team in preparing and presenting high-quality meals while personally connecting with residents through direct conversation. Plan daily schedules to maximize individualized interaction, monitor salad bars and beverage stations for refills, and help cook serving all meals. Fill drinking glasses, set and reset dining room tables, and assist in cleaning dining areas upon request. Promptly discuss and resolve food service or care coordination issues with your supervisor. Maintain adequate records and follow dietary services outlined in the Resident Handbook and Care Plan.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a knowledge of and understanding of and be able to follow oral and written directions, keep adequate records.
- An interest in and willingness to learn and a demonstrated initiative in developing skills in caring for the elderly consistent with the philosophy and policies of the community.
- Demonstrate loyalty to this community.
- Possess leadership qualities and supervisory skills.
- Be a positive and cooperative team player with peers and subordinates.
- Must be able effectively communicate with residents, supervisor and co-workers to meet their needs.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
- Training and experience has been attained through formal training or on-the-job training in appropriate techniques of resident care including nutritional monitoring and assessment, general nutrition, food production and service, sanitation, safety, and management.
- Must be adaptable and willing to perform a variety of assignments
- Have a current Food Handlers Card
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
