Job Summary
Oversee operation and maintenance of the Allen Water Treatment Plant, distribution pump facilities, and storage tanks, including scheduling repairs, managing workflows, and assigning tasks to ensure reliable, compliant water service. Establish process reliability metrics, develop preventative maintenance programs, and coordinate major corrective repairs with staff and the Engineering Division. Manage annual budgets, supervise direct reports, and prepare presentations for City Council and public boards while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and regional environmental regulations. Track physical assets, collaborate on long-term strategic planning, and utilize SCADA, GIS, and financial applications to optimize treatment processes and system integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or other water treatment related field preferred
- Minimum of 8 years' increasingly responsible experience in water utility operations and maintenance
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- Colorado Class A Water Operator Certification or able to obtain within six months from hire
- Valid Colorado motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record required

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to use SCADA, BlueBeam, GIS, financial and time keeping applications
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Encounters with hazardous conditions (including electrical currents, heavy equipment, fumes, bodily fluids, extreme temperatures, threatening behaviors, inadequate lighting, restricted movement, or intense noise) is: Frequent (greater than 50% of Time)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Project and asset management principles are highly desirable
- PMP certification is preferred
- Any distribution, industrial, mechanical or electrical certifications
