Job Summary
Lead field utility work and supervise crew in the repair, maintenance, and construction of water, sewer, and storm sewer infrastructure. Oversees trenching, shoring, traffic control (MUTCD-compliant), and safe work-zone setup; trains and mentors utility workers, coordinates with customers, and ensures accurate reporting and documentation using tablets/laptops. Requires extensive experience with heavy equipment operation, safety compliance, and the ability to manage a 4-6 person repair crew in outdoor utility environments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker and air brake endorsements
- CDPHE Distribution and/or Collections certification
- Competent Person Certification for trenching and shoring safety
- Confined Space Entry certification
- Valid Colorado driver’s license (and ability to obtain CDL A with endorsements within 180 days)
- Experience in water/wastewater construction and maintenance
- Experience operating heavy equipment (backhoe, excavator)
- Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends; on-call compensation included
