Job Summary
Utilities exception processing and team leadership for a 6-month onsite contract in Chesapeake, VA. Responsible for managing end-to-end utilities exception processing services, overseeing terminations and transfers (validation, documentation, final bill reconciliation), acting as primary liaison with utility providers, landlords, third-party bill payers, and sublease tenants, and managing billing discrepancies including CAM and shared cost allocations. Oversee payments on behalf of failed or defaulting sublessors in coordination with legal teams; ensure SOP adherence, documentation accuracy, and audit-trail maintenance; handle escalations related to service disruptions, disputes, and compliance risks. Support process documentation, KPI/SLAs monitoring, and performance reporting. Requires strong people and stakeholder management, analytical/problem-solving abilities, MS Excel expertise, and the ability to work across time zones; Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in utilities operations with at least 2 years in a supervisory role are required. Onsite in Chesapeake, VA for a 6-month contract.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in utilities operations, exception processing, or related functions
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Team Lead or supervisory role
- Experience in BPO or Shared Services environment preferred
- Exposure to real estate, lease management, utilities billing, or vendor management is a strong advantage
