Job Summary
Utilities & Environmental Project Manager at Lactalis leads projects related to plant utility areas and Wastewater Treatment Plants from design through full implementation, supporting plant operations and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include performing audits, inventorying equipment, assessing utility/WWPT needs, evaluating capacity, developing drawings/scopes/budgets/timelines, sourcing vendors and quotes, leading projects, tracking costs within budget, coordinating review meetings, ensuring effective project execution, collaborating with Quality/Food Safety/Planning/Operations/Maintenance, participating in Factory Acceptance Tests, and assisting with annual capital budgeting. Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, 5+ years of capital-expenditure project management in manufacturing (food preferred), expertise in heating/cooling/air systems, energy-saving initiatives, carbon footprint reduction, and proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and regulatory requirements; willingness to travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
- 5+ years’ experience working on capital expenditure projects as project manager
- Manufacturing Industry experience; Food preferred
- Heating, cooling & air systems expertise
- Optimization of above systems
- Energy saving project
- Carbon footprint reduction
- Microsoft Office proficiency; Advanced Excel; macros, pivot tables
- AutoCAD (equipment & P&ID dwg)
- Regulatory agencies requirements (OSHA, DEQ, PSM, PHA)
- Strong communication, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally
