Job Summary

Manages IT operations for the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) Information Technology – User Support Services, providing high-level IT support, leadership, and project oversight. Leads a team to meet departmental IT needs, collaborates with departmental and IIT leadership to standardize IT practices, and oversees budget development, policy implementation, and staff performance. Responsibilities include supervising at least 2.0 FTE, directing staff implementation of IT initiatives, evaluating strategy and recommending program enhancements, and ensuring alignment with priorities across academic, clinical, and research environments. May perform some work on-site at a designated campus location with potential remote work; familiarity with Jira or similar ITSM tools and Linux is preferred. Requires strong coordination with diverse stakeholders, effective communication, and the ability to balance operational duties with service-improvement initiatives. Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; compensation starts at $90,000 with negotiable potential based on experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of IT service management practices, workflows, and performance metrics
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and people-management skills
  • 5+ years’ experience supporting a complex IT environment that includes multiple, diverse technologies and platforms
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience
