Job Summary
User Facing Software Manager to lead the analytics and data engineering efforts for Pivotal’s eVTOL platforms. Drive the translation of telemetry, sensors, and logging data from hardware-in-the-loop and fleet-based systems into measurable insights, build dashboards and alerting systems, and collaborate across engineering and operations to enable data-driven decisions. Lead a small team of engineers and work with cross-functional partners to define analytics architectures, reliability techniques, and data strategies that support hardware and software development for consumer, public service, and defense applications. Requires strong Python expertise (Pandas, Plotly, Streamlit or equivalents), experience in dashboards and data visualization, and a deep understanding of telemetry and data management in complex hardware-enabled systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or system-level insight generation in complex technical programs
- Strong proficiency in Python and tools like Pandas, Plotly, Streamlit, or equivalent for data wrangling and visualization
- Experience designing dashboards and alerting systems for hardware or fleet-based systems
- Proven ability to work across engineering and operational teams to translate problems into measurable insights
- Deep understanding of telemetry, sensors, logging, and data management for hardware-in-the-loop or real-world systems
- Experience leading small teams
