Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Used Firearms Outfitter evaluates, appraises, and purchases used firearms, processes 4473 forms, and ensures proper payment and transfer to customers in compliance with ATF/state/local laws and company policies. Delivers legendary customer service by greeting and advising customers on firearm purchases, assisting in finding merchandise, and guiding buying decisions. Responsibilities include acquiring firearms legally, performing background checks/waiting periods, maintaining visual standards in the department, completing all applicable forms accurately, and staying current with firearms knowledge through ongoing training. The role involves assisting customers with product recommendations, communicating benefits of company programs, and executing opening/closing duties; local travel to purchase used firearms is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 to 4 years of experience in firearms retail or related field
- Must be 21 years of age
- Safely handle firearms
- Knowledge of purchasing firearms by either working in the firearms industry or collecting firearms
- Good understanding of retail and a knowledge of computers
- Background in current firearms models
- Able to appraise and know the marketable value of used firearms
