Job Summary
Perform comprehensive safety inspections on pre-owned vehicles, evaluating brakes, tires, suspension, and all major systems. Complete approved light mechanical repairs and conduct SMOG emissions testing. Document findings accurately, prepare reconditioning recommendations, and coordinate with the used vehicle manager on priorities. Maintain a clean workstation and conduct road tests to confirm repair quality. This role ensures every vehicle reaching the guest meets dealership standards at a high-volume luxury dealership. SMOG certification is required.

- Document inspection findings accurately and thoroughly
- Prepare clear reconditioning recommendations
- Conduct road tests to evaluate vehicle performance
- Confirm repair quality
- Coordinate with the used vehicle manager on reconditioning priorities, timelines, and approval
- Maintain accurate repair order documentation
- Work efficiently within a fast-paced dealership environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation
- Proven experience as an automotive technician
- California SMOG certification
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy or quality
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
