Job Summary
Provide instructional support to students with special needs in regular, resource, or other settings under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher. Duties include adapting and providing accommodations to classroom activities, assisting with instructional plans, monitoring behavior, aiding in personal care tasks as needed, and collaborating with staff to implement IEP goals. Responsibilities span Early Childhood to Secondary settings and may involve students with mild to moderate disabilities, including those who are deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired; duties emphasize promoting active participation in general education, data recording, safety, and maintaining confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 48 college hours or qualifying score on Master Teacher Online Exam within the first 90 days of employment
- 20 hours per year of in-service training
- Criminal Background check
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in Central Office
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
