Job Summary
Adapt classroom activities and implement individualized educational and behavioral programming under the supervision of certified staff. Assist students with personal care needs, social skills development, and challenging behaviors while monitoring safety in school and community environments. Collaborate with teachers and professionals to support student progress in general education settings and maintain accurate instructional data. Create visual aids for students with visual impairments and participate in required trainings to meet state standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 48 college hours
- Qualifying score on Master Teacher Online Exam within the first 90 days of employment
- 20 hours per year of in-service training
- Criminal Background check
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in Central Office
- Non-exempt status
- Adhering to safety practices
- Operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records
- Using district approved crisis intervention techniques
- Basic math
- Reading and following instructions
- Understanding complex, multi-step written and oral instructions
- Instructional procedures and practices
