Job Summary

Translate user needs, workflow insights, and risk controls into clear design requirements and contribute to the creation and review of design specifications, prototypes, and interface concepts. Plan, design, and execute usability engineering activities for medical hardware devices in accordance with regulatory requirements like MDR and FDA standards. Develop usability engineering files including user research plans, task analyses, and validation protocols while visualizing ideas through sketches, drawings, and renderings. Co-create mock-ups and prototypes with the R&D Team and provide guidance on human factors during verification and validation activities. Communicate project status, usability risks, and improvement measures to management and cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in human factors engineering, usability engineering, industrial design or a comparable qualification
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and mitigating use-related risks
  • Professional experience in the design and development of medical devices or a similar function
  • Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks, Keyshot, and the Adobe Creative Suite including for creating CAD-files, visualizations and videos
  • Willingness and general requirements for international business trips (e.g. USA, China)
  • Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken
