Job Summary
GM Coach leads and develops store teams, driving financial performance and sales through budgeting, forecasting, and effective merchandising. Responsibilities include hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, fostering a sense of belonging, ensuring exceptional customer service, and implementing action plans to improve operations and shrink reduction. The role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders, use of data insights for decision-making, Open Door policy adherence, and developing qualified associates to support company growth. It also involves maintaining store standards, coordinating with leadership on store initiatives, and delivering results aligned with Walmart’s values and EDLP/EDLC business models.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, CBC and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
- Supervisory experience in retail or equivalent.
- Training and mentoring experience with direct reports.
