Job Summary
Provides evidence-based vision care to patients, prescribing medications and treatment options, and educating patients and store associates on eye health. Coordinates patient care plans with other health professionals, conducts comprehensive eye examinations, prescribes and fits eyeglasses and contact lenses, and orders/assesses diagnostic tests (e.g., glaucoma testing, OCT). Develops treatment plans based on clinical presentation and patient preference, refers patients to ophthalmologists when needed, and maintains timely documentation of patient histories and plans. Represents the vision center in delivering exceptional customer service, collaborates with internal/external stakeholders, and supports regulatory compliance. Operates with advanced equipment and technology (digital phoropters, EMR, Maestro OCT/retinal camera) to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from accredited optometry school
- Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice
