Job Summary
Lead and develop a high-performing team of Financial Counselors across multiple hospital locations by conducting regular one-on-one meetings, coaching, and managing hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives. Drive exceptional patient advocacy by overseeing financial counseling activities for uninsured and underinsured patients, ensuring accurate screening for Medicaid, charity care, and financial assistance programs while serving as an escalation resource for complex situations. Monitor team productivity, analyze operational data, and prepare performance reports to identify improvement opportunities, while managing staffing schedules and workload distribution. Partner with hospital staff, case management, and community organizations to improve patient access to resources and ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare operations, patient financial services, revenue cycle, patient access, financial counseling, Medicaid enrollment, or a related healthcare setting
- Minimum 1 year of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing employees
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare technology platforms
- Ability to travel locally between assigned hospital facilities
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Medicaid eligibility, Medicaid applications, and financial assistance programs
- Experience leading teams in Financial Counseling, Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, or Patient Financial Services
- Strong analytical skills with experience utilizing performance metrics to drive results
- Proven success leading process improvement initiatives
