Job Summary

Lead teams in executing technical projects and producing deliverables, including analyses of travel time, rail system capacity, network improvements, traction power performance, and control line optimization. Manage new work development with clients, support O&M cost modeling, and travel to client sites and conferences. Author technical reports, mentor junior staff, and perform quality reviews. Requires at least 10 years of practical industry experience in rail operations, service planning, feasibility studies, and alternatives evaluation. Base compensation ranges from $110,000 to $140,000. Required Qualifications

  • At least 10 years' practical industry experience in rail operations, including service planning, feasibility studies, and alternatives evaluation
  • Experience in leading business development efforts, bids, and proposals
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to engage with clients and public stakeholders
  • Ability to work well in a team that is passionately committed to the pursuit of positive change

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience and knowledge of using rail simulation software such as Berkeley Simulation Systems' RTC, or OpenTrack
  • Experience with rail operating rules development/interpretation and/or transportation systems management
  • Broad interdisciplinary knowledge of rail systems, including power, track, signals, operations, scheduling, and vehicles
