Job Summary
Vice President in Equity Research for SMid Biotech responsible for building and maintaining Excel-based models to forecast financials, performing detailed valuation work, analyzing complex data sets, dissecting earnings releases and regulatory filings, writing research notes and sector reports, preparing presentations, and communicating with internal and external clients and management teams. Collaborates with Sales and Trading to fulfill client requests for market updates and market intelligence; requires strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing skills, and proficiency in modeling, forecasting, and valuation.
Required Qualifications
- FINRA Series 86
- FINRA Series 87
- Two to three years of experience in equity research and/or investment banking
- Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business communication skills
- Advanced level of proficiency in Excel
- Ability to multi-task and collaborate within a team environment as well as work independently
- High level of organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a proven ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Passion for the markets and interest in the SMid Biotech sector
- CFA charterholder or progress towards CFA
- Some coding capabilities – e.g., VBA, Python
