Job Summary
US Economic Research Analyst responsible for analyzing macroeconomic data, forecasting and tracking Federal Reserve and government policy, developing forecasting models (time series, panel, macro), and producing research reports. Role includes providing rapid analysis of data releases, supporting traders and sales with data requests and commentary, assisting with client meetings, and developing sector-specific US economic expertise. Requires strong quantitative skills, familiarity with Stata/EViews/Python/R, and Excel proficiency. On-site in NYC five days per week. The role emphasizes thoughtful written analysis, timely insights on growth, inflation, and labor market implications, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to inform trading decisions and client discussions.
Required Qualifications
- 0 – 2 years of industry experience
- Strong quantitative skillset, including a background in economics, mathematics, statistics or data science with some programming ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of economic principles
- Familiarity with Stata, EViews, Python, R, or similar
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- High level of intellectual curiosity
- Significant attention to detail
- Ability to be on-site in the NYC office 5 days per week
