Job Summary
Inspect and clean watercraft propellers and hulls, patch damaged hulls, and salvage sunken equipment. Patrol waters, assist with underwater construction of piers and harbor facilities, and survey rivers, beaches, and harbors for underwater obstacles. Perform reconnaissance, demolition, and salvage tasks in underwater conditions using scuba or deep-sea diving techniques up to 190 feet. Candidates must meet height/weight requirements, have no felony-level offenses or major medical procedures prohibiting service, and pass the ASVAB. Training includes Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training with classroom and field instruction.
Required Qualifications
- 17 to 34 years old
- Must be able to meet height/weight requirements
- No tattoos on hands, face, or above the neck (ring tattoos are acceptable)
- No history of a felony-level offense
- No major medical procedures that would prohibit you from service
- Must have an interest in joining the Army
- Must take the (ASVAB)
