Urology Surgicalist Opportunity-UMass Memorial Health

Urology Surgicalist role in a high-volume academic surgical practice at UMass Memorial Health. Responsibilities include inpatient and emergency department urology consultations, intra-operative consultations, managing urgent and emergent urologic procedures (e.g., obstructing stones, gross hematuria, testicular torsion, urologic trauma, urinary retention), postoperative care of hospitalized urology patients, and collaboration with hospitalists, intensivists, emergency medicine physicians, and subspecialists. The position offers opportunities for clinical, basic, translational, and health-related quality research, an academic appointment commensurate with experience, and participation in surgical quality improvement and patient safety programs; may involve supervision or mentoring of medical students, residents, or advanced practice providers. Eligible candidates are MD or DO, board-certified or board-eligible in Urology, with Massachusetts medical licensure and strong communication skills.
