Job Summary
Inpatient and emergency department urology consultations; intra-operative consultations; manage urgent and emergent urologic procedures and surgeries (e.g., stones, hematuria, torsion, trauma, urinary retention); comprehensive post-operative care for hospitalized urology patients; collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, ED physicians, and subspecialists; participate in surgical quality improvement and patient safety programs; document thoroughly in the EMR; may supervise or mentor medical students, residents, or APPs; opportunity for clinical, basic, translational, and health-related research within an academic setting; role focuses on high-impact inpatient care without outpatient duties, with academic appointment commensurate with experience
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Urology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills
- Comfortable managing high-acuity urologic emergencies in a hospital-based setting
