Job Summary
Urology Surgicalist role in an academic hospital setting focused on inpatient and emergency department urology care. Responsibilities include inpatient and ED urology consultations, intra-operative consultations, management of urgent urologic procedures (e.g., obstructing stones, gross hematuria, testicular torsion, urologic trauma, urinary retention), post-operative care, collaboration with hospitalists, intensivists, emergency medicine physicians, and surgical subspecialists; participation in surgical quality improvement and patient safety initiatives; documentation in the EMR; potential supervision or mentorship of medical students, residents, or advanced practice providers. Requires MD or DO with board-certification or board-eligibility in Urology and eligibility for Massachusetts medical licensure. Offers an academic appointment with opportunities for clinical, translational, and health-related quality research; role emphasizes high-acuity inpatient care within a hospital-based setting with access to advanced OR technology and supportive staff.
