Job Summary
Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor provides afternoon, one-on-one support in the client’s home and community to promote safety, independence, and participation. Responsibilities include supervising community outings, guiding cooking and meal planning, assisting with dressing and personal care, and ensuring safe daily routines. Skills emphasize compassion, observant planning, person-centered support, and ability to respond quickly to safety needs while maintaining dignity. Required certifications include CPR/First Aid, Live Scan, and TB clearance, along with two forms of identification.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities preferred
- Patient, dependable, and safety-focused approach
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to provide hands-on assistance as needed
- Two forms of valid identification
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Live Scan fingerprint clearance
- TB test clearance
