Job Summary
Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor provides one-on-one afternoon support on Tuesdays for an individual with Mild Intellectual Disability and Epilepsy, focusing on increasing independence in daily living skills, community navigation, and household responsibilities while ensuring safety and accessibility. The role emphasizes adapting to visual impairment, promoting independence, and safe kitchen/navigation practices. Ideal candidates possess strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills, are patient and dependable, and can work independently during scheduled afternoon hours. Required: CPR and First Aid certification, Live Scan clearance, TB test clearance, and two forms of valid identification.
Required Qualifications
- Two forms of valid identification
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Live Scan fingerprint clearance
- Current TB test clearance
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, epilepsy, or visual impairment preferred
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to provide hands-on assistance as needed
