Job Summary
Caring for ill, aging, or disabled persons by performing light housework, meal preparation, medication reminders, shopping, and assistance with personal care services such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Primarily work in the client's place of residence while traveling between clients as shift times, days, and activities vary with specific needs. Be willing to work with hospice patients, and experience with Alzheimer's and dementia is a plus. Shifts range from 4 to 12 hours with flexible scheduling available. Requires a valid driver's license, insured automobile, and personal transportation. Minimum one year of professional home care experience is needed, along with the ability to lift 50 pounds. A sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and enjoyment of spending time with seniors are essential. TB testing is required within the past year or five years.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license, insured automobile, and personal transportation
- Minimum 1 years of professional home care experience
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate required
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
- Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick
- Enjoy spending time with seniors!
- TB test- PPD or QuantiFERON (both within the past year) or Chest X-ray (within the past 5 years)
- Be willing to work with Hospice patients
- Travel is required
- Shift times, days and activities vary with client needs
