Job Summary
Lead veterinary team during shifts to deliver consistent, high-quality patient care and client service in a fast-paced urgent care clinic. Provide operational support across shifts, coordinate paraprofessional staff, assign cases, and help steward hospital leadership goals. Partner with the Practice Manager and Lead DVM to ensure effective communication with clients, hospital team members, and support center. Responsibilities include staff training/mentoring, inventory and equipment issue resolution, client resolution decisions and experience exceptions, and supporting labor management. Requires 40 lb lift, on-site presence, and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ideal candidate has 2+ years in healthcare/veterinary settings, medical terminology training, an associate degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure (preferred), and 6 months of management experience (preferred).
Required Qualifications
- Two years of experience in healthcare, veterinary profession, or service-type industry required.
- Medical terminology training required.
- Associate degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred.
- Six months of prior experience in a management position strongly preferred.
- Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
- Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- This position requires regular on-site presence as an essential function of the role.
