Job Summary
Urgent Care Veterinarian sought for New Smyrna Beach Animal Medical Center to join our weekend urgent care team. The role provides urgent medical and surgical care for a broad caseload (trauma, acute illness, lacerations, urgent soft-tissue procedures), triage and stabilization of emergency patients, diagnostics (radiographs, point-of-care lab work), and clear communication of treatment plans and prognosis to clients. The position collaborates with the weekday primary care team for follow-up care, maintains medical records, ensures adherence to hospital protocols, and contributes to building a growing urgent care practice. Requirements include a DVM or equivalent, Florida licensure eligibility, current or obtain-on-hire DEA license, active state license, USDA accreditation or obtain-on-hire, and proficiency in general medicine and surgery. Strong collaboration, communication skills, and a drive to shape the future of the practice are desirable. This is a Full Time OR Part Time Urgent Care Veterinarian role with emphasis on compassionate team-based care.
Required Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent degree with eligibility for Florida licensure
- Current DEA License or obtained upon hire
- Active Veterinary State License
- USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire
- Proficient in general medicine and surgery
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with confidence in urgent care or general practice medicine
- Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an AVMA accredited university
